Bucket elevators are developed to move bulk solids or flowing powders vertically. Bucket elevators utilize an endless chain or belt and have a range of buckets attached to it. Bulk material is scatter into an inlet hopper. Buckets or cups sculpt into the material and carry it up & over the head sprocket/pulley, and then throw the material out a discharge throat
It made of:
Buckets to contain the material
Gear Box and Electric Motor to drive the belt
A chain or belt to transport the buckets & transmit the pull
Accessories for filling the buckets or picking up the material, for obtaining the discharged material, for maintaining the belt tension and for enclosing & protecting the elevator.
Bucket elevators are not self-feeding, and are fed at a controlled amount. The buckets are commonly where the belt or chain path is steeply or vertical inclined in an individual plane. The buckets are returned back down to a tail pulley at the bottom.
